Forth of July Activities

Happy 4th of July
We had a great Day with family and friends
We went to the library park and played games and visited

Our traditions is to have a new 4th of July shirt
We picked these up in St. George

BBQ was great thanks to Grampa Mortie

Mikal kept Steven entertained with the ipod,
now he loves to watch movies on an ipod too

The fireworks were watched again on the roof of the house,
it was weird not to be at the apartments but we are lucky to have our home now

Very tired after the heat and activities of the day.

Things from the past
We were able to use Charlie's pool
While were in Cali...
Just like when I was a little girl
I would go over and swim with his
Daughter Julie and eat figs that Luc would
peel open for us. great memories

First trip to the Beach'08

A day at the Beach
Isn't he cute!

We headed to Silverstrand and spent the day, with family and friends
Auntie Sharon met up with us too. The kids all played and Mikal
was able to hook up with friends from the 4th ward

After the beach though everyone crashed
I was tired too, but some one had to drive

It was a fun day and we love being in California for a visit.

Cove Fort '08

Cove Fort - Hinckley Family Home Stead
We needed to stop for a break in the long drive of the day

And Cove Fort popped up, so we decided to stop
We took the tour and saw how the Hinckley family build
this protective fort out in the middle of no where.
The kids were told what their jobs would be

Mikal would have to build the telegraph
Every 30 yards dig a hole and put a pole in then wire it up
the move another 30 yards, for miles and miles
Becki would learn to make soap, how to sew and cook and
take care of younger children
Sam would have had to clean out the "Dunnies" which he was
not excited about.

We also ran into Quentin Hansom and his Grandson, Paul as
they were serving at this mission for the next 4 months
We had a treat time and it helped us really appreciate the
"Conviences of home" we love living today!

Good things in small packages

We found a new way to drink Hot cocoa

On our way to California for our summer trip we stopped at super 8 motel
and stayed the night. The kids wanted dessert so I sent them to the
breakfast area for Hot Cocoa (yes it was 102 degrees out side)
There were some coffee creamers there and no milk to cool the hot drink
so we add 3 creamers French Vanilla flavor, to our hot cups
and boy we loved it.
So when you have a cool evening, and you are having
some Hot Cocoa don't forget the French Vanilla Creamer. haha
